How To Atlanta: Plaza Fiesta

Editorial Design

I created a guide on an important place in Atlanta, which is Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway. Plaza Fiesta is the heart of one of metro Atlanta's most diverse communities. It’s an indoor mall that reflects a Latin American street market. Visitors can savor authentic flavors from across Latin America, delicious foods, traditional bakery treats, and colorful candies while enjoying a lively calendar of family-friendly events, from carnivals and concerts to cultural heritage celebrations.

Having gone there as a child strengthened my connection to the place, but it felt different coming back as an adult to observe the area. As I took photos, I got to sense each area and see the different scopes of everyone’s life.

My goal was to make the guide as fun and interactive as my time there. I wanted the colors and fonts to be bold and bright, inspired by Mexican design and artwork. You can see this with the papel picado and callouts to Latino items and culture. Each layout presents a different side of Plaza Fiesta, from the clothing to the food.
